Pullet Rearing
The health and welfare of our pullets is vitally important to us. We rear our birds on single age sites which have excellent biosecurity. All our pullets are produced under the Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme and all of our rearing sheds are monitored on a regular basis, by our trained staff.
Pullets are supplied to both free range and colony systems. We have perch/platform sheds available, to ensure that birds can move freely in their laying environment and can adapt quickly to the onset of lay.
All of our farms vaccinate birds during rearing, which is carried out to a pre-ordained vaccination programme, determined by our veterinary consultants. Our stock is regularly weighed, to ensure good growth and development. Dust sampling for disease control is also carried out on a regular basis. Together with our nutritionist, we specify our own feed formulation in respect of our stock.
Customer Back Up
Customer satisfaction is very important to us. After the birds are transferred to our customer’s site, we make pre-arranged visits to their site in order to further monitor the bird’s growth and development. With our customer’s permission, we normally make three visits to the site and there after we keep in contact with our customer’s in an advisory and helpful capacity. We want to ensure that our customer’s achieve the best possible results.
Breeds
From experience, we know that one breed does not suit all systems and market demands, so we supply a range of breeds in order to satisfy our customer’s. We are available to discuss and recommend breeds to our individual customer’s requirements.
Breeds, management guides and performance data are available below:-
